Happy New Year!!!!

As I start my post, I have to laugh!   I see that my last post, as well as so many others from the past,  started with "I can't believe it's been XX since I last posted".  Now here I am nearly 2 months later starting to say the same thing!   This blogging things seems to be quite the challenge for me!  LOL
When I started it up again, it was because after selling my business a year ago,  I was finally feeling like I had the time to commit to it... How quickly things can change!!!  The selling of the business turned into a Train Wreck!   It's a very long story, but over the last few months I've been helping the family that bought it try to bring it back to life. With my regular part time job, helping with the flower shop, and running my Kimber K Creations business,  I've been busier than ever!   BUT!  I have been crafting :)   and crafting and crafting and crafting!   I was so busy filling orders over Christmas that I barely had time to breath!  let alone blog!!   LOL... but here I am :)  Finally making time.   Thank you to those that are hanging in there with me :)

So, is it too late to share Christmas?  I hope not, because I am doin it!!!!
I LOVE decorating my house for the seasons.  Christmas time just makes me so happy... I love the twinkling lights, the red, the silver.... it just makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside!    So without further ado.... Here is the Kinion House for Christmas, 2013 <3
Here is my Christmas Tree.   I was late getting it up this year!  Usually I like to have it up the weekend after Thanksgiving, but this year I wasn't able to get it up until December 11th!  And the only reason that I got it done then was because I woke up one morning at 4:30 and thought... well,  this is a great time to decorate the tree!
My Precious Moments Nativity and the "Oh Holy Night" sign I made.
My door shelf <3  Love love decorating this for the seasons :)   This year It was perfect for this little Snoman themed tree and my lighted snowmen.  No, I didn't leave that random candy cane hanging there!   LOL

I've had these guys for about 15 years and I still love them :)   The countdown to Christmas sign is one I made for my craft fair season... I decided I really  needed to keep one for myself :)

A close up of the little snowman tree :)

This is an old window and shelf that hangs over our couch.  I also love decorating this for the different seasons and holidays.   Those ornaments are Dollar Tree ornaments that I decorated with white vinyl.   Found the idea on pinterest and loved it so much I had to recreate it.

Close up... So stinkin cute!!

The top of our entertainment center... Yes, we still have one!  LOL... I think we may be one of the only families I know that don't yet have a flat screen.  I'm kinda cheap like that :)   LOL

These are my Believe blocks that I finally got finished for myself this year!   I've been meaning to make these for at least 2 years!

this is the shelf we built last spring to go above our French Doors.  Another web find.  I'll post the link a little later.  I love love love how this turned out.   You can see a better picture of it in the living room picture below.

Even the guest bath gets "Christmafied"  :)   There's more..... but I can't find the pictures!

This was my table set up for our Christmas Buffet.  We don't do a big Christmas dinner, but instead have a big celebration Christmas Eve and we do lots of hour devours and snacks.

All ready for our Christmas Eve celebration.  :)  My favorite time of year!!!!

Our Hot Cocoa bar... with Homemade Peppermint Marshmallows that I meant to post about on my blog but didn't get around to :(

SNOW!!!!!  We got snow!!!  Not exactly on Christmas, but on December 8th and Thank goodness we had our lights up and the house was decorated inside!   I got to enjoy Christmas lights on snow for the first time in my life, I think :)   We get snow every so often, but it's rare we get more than a skiff and NEVER on Christmas!!!   It was wonderful :)

Well that's my tour :)   I hope everyone had a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!  and Wishing everyone a blessed NEW YEAR!!!!

Christmas Countdown Board

Happy Wednesday, Friends!

Wow!  November 6th!!   It's been 2 1/2 weeks since I've posted!
Getting back into blogging has proven to be a little harder than I expected.   Trying to make sure that I have something to post worth reading, (and if we're being honest, we know it's more about SEEING :) ),  is hard to do!   But I'm determined!  I will master this!  :)

After I posted all my Halloween goodies and decor, I got stuck.   Why?  Oh, I was crafting my little heart out, but it wasn't Halloween or Fall, it was Christmas!   And it just didn't seem right to post pictures of Christmas stuff in the middle of celebrating Halloween......   I had a little craft bazaar on November 2nd, so I'd spent the better part of the last 3 weeks designing and creating Christmas signs.   I think it's OK to share Christmas now, right?  :)

My first share will be my Christmas Countdown board.  I'm so excited to share it!!!   I just LOVE how this turned out :)   and I'm also so proud of myself that I actually got it done it time to use it!!!  LOL   My usual MO is that I will have all these great ideas and intentions and then not get it done in time to really enjoy it for the season it was intended.   So Yay, Me!  LOL  I was finally on the ball!

If you missed my Halloween Countdown Board, you can see it Here .   It wasn't my original idea, but I did change it up to make it my own... I loved it SO much that I decided I needed a Christmas Countdown Board, too!   So I got to work designing it... and after hours of agonizing over the wording and fonts, this is what I came up with.........
TA DA!!!!!
I Just LOVE IT!!!
I'm not entirely sure where I'm going to put it yet... whether it will be used outside on my porch like the Halloween Countdown, or maybe I'll find a fun place for it inside... not sure yet!  but I can't wait to display it for Christmas :)
I used my Silhouette Cameo and different colors of outdoor vinyl.  Chalkboard vinyl for the "tags". ( I had contemplated creating real tags to hang and switch out.... and I may still do that.... but for now this will do. )  I hung real little "Jingle bells" from  a jute bow for a fun little touch, but now that I look at it again, I think they need to be a little bigger.  I'll have to take care of that later.

Hope you love it as much as I do!   :)

That's all for today, now this chicky needs to get ready for work!
have a great hump day!

HeLLoo!

Well,  Hello there, Long Lost Friends!..... If there's still anyone left out there that remained a follower of this blog after 2 long years.... I know!  2 years!  (but I will explain)  I've been wanting to revive my blog for quite some time... I pondered over just starting a new one or reviving this one, and after checking into the hits, I realized that it does still get visits, so why not just bring it back to life.  So here I am!!!  :)

Now to explain my absence.....   a little over 2 years ago, my whole world crashed with some personal family issues.... I held it together for a few months, and then in November 2011, I just broke.    For about 8 months my whole life was consumed and I just didn't have the emotional energy for anything else.  It was all I could do to run my business and function, let alone find time to craft and certainly not keep up a blog.  (Maybe someday I'll talk about it, but for now we'll just keep this blog about fun, happy things. )
When things finally came back around, I just didn't know how to start again.... it had been sooooo long!!!    I logged in a couple of times to try.... but for some reason it just wouldn't come.   I'd think..."I'll think about it for a few days and try again."  but then time would slip away and before I knew it, another 3 months had gone by... and so on and so on..

But!  Here I am now!!!  and Life is once again wonderful  :)  Many things have changed in my life.  I sold my business, which means I have more time for ME!!   My crafting Mojo has returned!  My decorating Mojo is back in full obsession and I'm READY TO BLOG ABOUT IT!    Maybe it's because it's fall, my FAVORITE season for decorating!!!  ;)   I've been pulling out the Halloween decorations the last week or so and today is the day to really get to it!  I'm late!!! :)    I'll start with a couple of pics of things I've done and then (insert Arnold accent here)  "I'll be back!!"

Here's my "Mantle", which isn't really a "Mantle" but a shelf that my wonderful Hubby and I built last spring to go over the French Doors.  I love how it turned out and couldn't wait to decorate it with all my Halloween Goodies!!!   It's was really  hard to get a good picture since all I had available at the time was my cell phone and the lighting was just horrible.   I think I may make some changes now that I see the pic... I'll post if I do :)
Here are my Halloween "Funkins" that I decorated.  Yes, I see that I dotted the "n" in our name instead of the "i",  LOL.... I fixed it but haven't taken a new pic yet.  The decals are cut with my Silhouette Cameo and glitter vinyl.   I love how they turned out!

Thanks for hangin' with me, if you're still here.  <3  I'll be back later with a fun new Halloween Porch!

Happy Halloween!!!!!

Happy Halloween Everyone!   I can't believe that today is Halloween.  I'm so not ready for it to be over :(  As usual I just feel like I didn't have time to get to all the things I wanted to make and do ..... Oh well, put it on the list for next year :)

So yesterday I finally took some time to take pictures of the rest of my decor.  I figured I better hurry up and get it posted before it's too late!!   Lets take a tour and I hope you enjoy!

This is my Front Door.   I usually start decorating for Fall in early September... but that's way too early for Halloween.. but then who has the time to keep changing out the decorations for Fall/Halloween/Thanksgiving...Not I!!!  LOL  So I will  typically try to incorporate my Halloween Decor into what I've already put out.   For my door pocket, I just added a few spooky pics that I picked up at Michaels on clearance last year.  Look at those fun hangy spider things!  I love them!!!

For my Barn Door, I took down the little Scarecrow Pot and put up this spooky cage and crow.. I replaced the vinyl "Welcome" with "Beware"... (that's easy to change out)   I also added a few scary pumpkins to the planter....So now we have a "Spooky Fall" look :)

For my Little Red Wagon:  the Mums and the Bacopa were reaching their end... which is just perfect :)  I added a tombstone and this creepy little skeleton guy..... and I think it looks great :)

Here's a full view of the Barn Door :)  Still my most favorite treasure :)

I wasn't going to post this picture....LOL   I was trying to hurry... and decided not to worry about the "Tree's" that I potted to add to the spooky forest theme on the front porch... but as I was looking at it.. I thought  "What are those spooky glowing things in the window...  Well, if click on the picture to make it bigger and you look closely, it's my little Chloe girl :)   she's watching me out the window like... "mama can I please come outside... I promise I'll stay out of the pictures."   Love my girly dogs :)

The following pictures are of some interior decor:

This is right as you enter the foyer on a little shelf going up the stairs.  I made this "Boo" out of muslum. It's coffee stained and cinnamon soaked.. it's sooo much cuter in person!  The bats are black vinyl cut from Happy Hauntings and the Jar I will show you a little later... nearly impossible to get a good picture!!!
Entering the Hallway..... a creepy "picture" created with Happy Hauntings.
This is Brand New... hung just a couple of days before the party so it's not very decorated... LOL   An old window that I bought  and a shelf that I plan to paint white and distress... it will become my "Mantle" since I don't have one :)   It hangs above the couch.

a close up of the window... I love it !!!!

This hangs by my kitchen table.  I just cut a piece of tagboard from the dollar tree to fit inside the frame.. then created the "Picture" with Happy Hauntings.  I actually made this last year but I still love it and used it again this year... a fun, easy way to change out the pictures in your home for a spooky Halloween look.
A few more altered pictures:  so easy to do.  These hang in the hallway.

Now for the candle Jars.  These are nearly impossible to get a good picture of!  The glare from the Modge Podge is crazy!   These I made last year.. they are just regular ol jars that I covered in modge podge, rolled in coffee and cinnamon, placed a printed Halloween picture on and turned them into spooky lanterns.  They really are sooooo cute!  and give off this creepy "old" glow.  :)

So I think that's all for today!
Thanks for visiting and I better get my booty in gear.  I have a very busy day in the Flower Shop!

Happy Halloween everyone!!!

I love Fall!

I do love Fall.  Fall is my absolute favorite time of year.  I love the feel of the air, watching the leaves change, the sounds of the Crows ( I think I just notice them more this time of year)  the sounds of the Blue Jays as they squawk at each other fighting over the hazelnuts, the feeling of "Nesting" that comes over me as I prepare my home for the winter months....canning, storing....and of course DECORATING!  This is the time of year when you get to gussy up your house with all the cozy colors of fall for 3 whole months... and then move right on to Christmas decor... love love love the decorating :)

When we built our house 13 years ago ,  (I know, right!  I can't believe it's been 13 years ago, already!), believe it or not, our search for the perfect house plan began with the porch.   I HAD to have a house plan with a big front  porch.  Why???  So I could decorate it, of course :)   I'd always LOVED old farmhouses with big front porches... there's that nostalgic feeling again :)

I spent this week dragging out the totes of fall decor and decorating my little heart out :)   Here is my front porch all gussied up for Fall.   I think I'll save the Halloween decor for a bit and just enjoy the "fallish" feel before I add the spooky stuff.  :)

THIS is one of my most favorite Fall pieces.  I bought one of these at a craft fair in Sisters, Oregon about 10 years ago.  It was one of those things that I looked at and said... "Ohhhh, I can make that"... and off I went.. but as I thought about it over the course of the day, I knew how often I said that and never got around to it, so I went back and bought it.  I've never regretted it!   I love it so much!   I hang it out in September, replace it mid October with Halloween, and then put it back out for November. I never tire of it.  :)   I've since made a few more for friends and they are equally in love :)

This little guy, I did make :)   I painted MANY of these for friends and family several years ago.  It's just a regular ol' terra cotta pot turned upside down and painted with acrylics.  The face was from a pattern in one of my tole painting books but I think it would be easy to draw your own.   Add a straw hat, some raffia for hair and ~Walla~  you have a cute little scarecrow guy.  I love his sweet little face.

I love the way he looks hanging in the opening of my "barn door , above the "planter box"  filled with all kinds of fun fall foliage and sunflowers and a pumkin :)

And here is a full view of my "Barn Door" all decorated up for Fall.  I am so loving this door by my door!  LOL

More beautiful, sparkly fall foliage in a metal pocket I got on clearance at Michaels last year.

And finally, my "Twiggy Planter" full of pumpkins and leaves.  Another favorite treasure that I can change out for every season.   I bought this at the Portland Flower Market a couple years ago when I went to a flower show.
Also another one of those things I passed up the first go around and went back for. LOL  and still again, never regretted the purchase.  This is his 2nd year on the porch and he get's a new look for every season :)

So that's the porch.  :)   It makes me SO happy every time I look at it. :)
I'm Working on some other fun things for inside the house that I can't wait to share.

Thanks for visiting today!  Hope you'll come again. :)

Barn Door Reveal

Well, I finally made a decision about my "Barn Door".
Thank You so much  for all the your wonderful opinions, comments and emails from my "Opinions" post Here
I did decide I will keep it by the front door.  I had my hubby help me set it up "temporarily", so I could decorate it and leave it for a while to see if I liked it... well, I LOVE it there!  Every time I walk up on the front porch and see it, it just makes me  happy.
We figured out a way to secure it without attaching it to the house... so if I decide later that I'm tired of it and want to put it somewhere else, then it won't be a problem to move it :)  But for now.... I Just LOVE IT!  right
 where it is!

The "Welcome" was cut using my Cricut.   (It's currently just paper.... I need to get some more black vinyl.)  I'm thinking that it needs something else on either side, but I cant decide what.  Any ideas?

I made these little boxes a few years ago from some OLD barn wood that I brought back from Montana.  I originally had other plans for them.... That project hasn't materialized yet, so I decided that one of them would work perfect as a little "Planter Box" on the door.  :)  These two little begonias are just perfect for now :)

This little red wagon filled with Bacopa, and  this cute little lantern finish off the look perfectly for the late summer decor.

I can already envision how it's going to look decorated for the different seasons and Holidays.  I can't wait!!!
Banners across the opening,  Christmas Greens and ornaments in the planter box......

Ta Da!!!!    What do you think?  :)
I love your comments, so let me know what YOU think :)
