Happy Halloween!!!!!

Happy Halloween Everyone!   I can't believe that today is Halloween.  I'm so not ready for it to be over :(  As usual I just feel like I didn't have time to get to all the things I wanted to make and do ..... Oh well, put it on the list for next year :)

So yesterday I finally took some time to take pictures of the rest of my decor.  I figured I better hurry up and get it posted before it's too late!!   Lets take a tour and I hope you enjoy!

This is my Front Door.   I usually start decorating for Fall in early September... but that's way too early for Halloween.. but then who has the time to keep changing out the decorations for Fall/Halloween/Thanksgiving...Not I!!!  LOL  So I will  typically try to incorporate my Halloween Decor into what I've already put out.   For my door pocket, I just added a few spooky pics that I picked up at Michaels on clearance last year.  Look at those fun hangy spider things!  I love them!!!

For my Barn Door, I took down the little Scarecrow Pot and put up this spooky cage and crow.. I replaced the vinyl "Welcome" with "Beware"... (that's easy to change out)   I also added a few scary pumpkins to the planter....So now we have a "Spooky Fall" look :)

For my Little Red Wagon:  the Mums and the Bacopa were reaching their end... which is just perfect :)  I added a tombstone and this creepy little skeleton guy..... and I think it looks great :)

I wasn't going to post this picture....LOL   I was trying to hurry... and decided not to worry about the "Tree's" that I potted to add to the spooky forest theme on the front porch... but as I was looking at it.. I thought  "What are those spooky glowing things in the window...  Well, if click on the picture to make it bigger and you look closely, it's my little Chloe girl :)   she's watching me out the window like... "mama can I please come outside... I promise I'll stay out of the pictures."   Love my girly dogs :)

This is right as you enter the foyer on a little shelf going up the stairs.  I made this "Boo" out of muslum. It's coffee stained and cinnamon soaked.. it's sooo much cuter in person!  The bats are black vinyl cut from Happy Hauntings and the Jar I will show you a little later... nearly impossible to get a good picture!!!

This is Brand New... hung just a couple of days before the party so it's not very decorated... LOL   An old window that I bought  and a shelf that I plan to paint white and distress... it will become my "Mantle" since I don't have one :)   It hangs above the couch.

This hangs by my kitchen table.  I just cut a piece of tagboard from the dollar tree to fit inside the frame.. then created the "Picture" with Happy Hauntings.  I actually made this last year but I still love it and used it again this year... a fun, easy way to change out the pictures in your home for a spooky Halloween look.

A few more altered pictures:  so easy to do.  These hang in the hallway.

Now for the candle Jars.  These are nearly impossible to get a good picture of!  The glare from the Modge Podge is crazy!   These I made last year.. they are just regular ol jars that I covered in modge podge, rolled in coffee and cinnamon, placed a printed Halloween picture on and turned them into spooky lanterns.  They really are sooooo cute!  and give off this creepy "old" glow.  :)

More Halloween Fun~

 I've been working on getting the rest of my Halloween decorations out and getting the house ready for our Halloween Party!  Eeeekkk  only 18 more days!  I can't wait.!!
Today I worked on decorating my door shelf.  I love my door shelf... have I said that before?  :)
I think I'll break the decorations up into a few fun posts rather than one long one... it's more fun that way :)
So for today.......

This~ is the "Ghostly" version of Live Laugh Love.... :)  I saw this saying on a sign at a craft fair years and years ago and thought it was the cutest thing!   Cricut and Happy Hauntings to the rescue and I now Have my own... but I think it needs a frame... put that on the list :)  ~
Movin on..... 

And This~  is some good old fashioned "Spider Cider".....  it tastes suspiciously like Root Beer :)
Wish I was better at taking pictures!  Its so much cuter in person.  You can "Brew" some of this up for all your favorite goblins this year

  Here they are with a cute paper cone filled with Halloween treats. So cute!!    They would make great favors for a kids' Halloween party.. don'tcha think?

My Halloween Tree

Hi!  Thanks for stopping by today!
I am Sooooooo excited to share my little Halloween Tree!   I just love how cute it turned out! It's a little busy.... But I still love it!

I actually wanted to make one like this last year, but because of some time constraints and elusive supplies (clear glass ornaments~Glow in the dark glitter)  the one I ended up making was not NEARLY as cute as I'd planned.  Plus, I SCORED big time on this little tree at JoAnn's!  30% off already, plus another 20% off entire purchase coupon!  Yay Mee!!!!!   I wish it was a little taller... but I still love it!

 So, I started with my glitter ornaments.  You can find tutorials online for this, but if you have any questions I'd be glad to help.   

 They are really easy to make and they're so much prettier than the pictures show.  

I used my Cricut , black vinyl and the October 31st and Happy Hauntings Carts  (Love that spooky font.) to cut out the words and spiders.  I tried a few other little things like ghosts such, but they didn't want to form around the curve of the ornament very well so I just stuck with the words and spiders.  I think that's enough anyway, don't you?

Look how Stinkin Cute!!!  I just love them!  I think this little spooky green one is my favorite...

Or maybe these are my favorites .. Love them!

I used Martha Stewart glow in the dark glitter for the white ones.  Let me tell ya....I looked all over for this stuff last year and I could not find it ANYWHERE!  I don't live close to any major craft store chain, so I am always a step behind,  :(  Something good comes out and by the time I get to the store, it's always gone!   Anyway, I found it this year... so I bought 2! ~ I'm not gonna take THAT chance again...Phew!!

Our Pink Lemonade Party

I can hardly believe that my beautiful baby girl turns 21 today! The old Cliche' about how time flies is so true. We are sooooo proud of her and the young woman that she's become.
We had a small family get together Yesterday to celebrate her Big Day and I wanted to make it extra special even though it was mostly just family. Her favorite cake is a Raspberry Lemonade cake, so I decided to try and work around a "Pink Lemonade" idea with a "Coctail" theme.

I absolutely LOVE the "Cake in a Jar" idea. The presentation is soooo fun and it's really pretty easy. (I'll post the recipe and instructions in another post)

This is her Birthday Banner. I used my cricut and the Elegant Edges cartridge. Love love love this cart! If you need or want the deets on the cuts, just email me and I'll be glad to share :)

Her Birthday Table all decorated up... Sorry for the bad lighting, but with the windows behind the table it makes it really hard to get a good picture (since I definitely need to learn some photography skills :)

And This is my Beautiful Birthday Girl.

My Beautiful Baby Girl and I :) I still can't believe that she's all grown up... I was just a few months older than her when we brought this sweet little bundle home. :) Now, I'm throwing Pink Lemonade Cocktail Parties for her!

Barn Door Reveal

Well, I finally made a decision about my "Barn Door".  
Thank You so much  for all the your wonderful opinions, comments and emails from my "Opinions" post Here
I did decide I will keep it by the front door.  I had my hubby help me set it up "temporarily", so I could decorate it and leave it for a while to see if I liked it... well, I LOVE it there!  Every time I walk up on the front porch and see it, it just makes me  happy.

We figured out a way to secure it without attaching it to the house... so if I decide later that I'm tired of it and want to put it somewhere else, then it won't be a problem to move it :)  But for now.... I Just LOVE IT!  right
 where it is! 

The "Welcome" was cut using my Cricut.   (It's currently just paper.... I need to get some more black vinyl.)  I'm thinking that it needs something else on either side, but I cant decide what.  Any ideas?

I made these little boxes a few years ago from some OLD barn wood that I brought back from Montana.  I originally had other plans for them.... That project hasn't materialized yet, so I decided that one of them would work perfect as a little "Planter Box" on the door.  :)  These two little begonias are just perfect for now :)

 This little red wagon filled with Bacopa, and  this cute little lantern finish off the look perfectly for the late summer decor.   

I can already envision how it's going to look decorated for the different seasons and Holidays.  I can't wait!!!
Banners across the opening,  Christmas Greens and ornaments in the planter box......

Sparklin' up the front door

Ok... First off, I am SO excited! 5 new followers in the last 2 days!!  And  Thank You!!  to those of you who left comments about the barn door.  Loved, Loved, Loved having all those comments!  You've helped me (almost) decide that it's going by the front door.  
I'm going to set it up, decorate it and ponder it for a while :)  I don't want to commit to drilling holes in the wall to hold it up until I am ABSOLUTELY certain that is where it will stay. 
Stay tuned!!!  I am working on some decorations for it and will post very soon!  

In the meantime..... Here is a fun share :)

So, I kinda missed the boat on the 4th of July decor... but I had this idea for a fun, Patriotic door wreath and I just HAD to make it!  I figured the 4th of July comes just, well, 4 days into the month...So  I can leave this up for ALL of july, right?

I absolutely LOVE how this turned out!!  The idea for the firecrackers came from seeing all the wonderful decor ideas out there.  When I was trying to think of an idea for a door wreath, I thought it would be cute to have firecrackers on it!   Of course wooden ones would be too heavy, so I just decorated tp and paper towel rolls :)   Worked like a charm! 

I then stuffed the centers with centers with paper and hot glued it in there so I'd have something to adhere my "sparklers" to.   I used tulle, sparkly pipe cleaners and paper shred to decorate the tops. I decorated the tubes pretty simple... I may go back and add some stars... not sure.  I'll have to think about it for a while.... don't want it to look too busy. 
I Hot glued the first one onto the wreath and then Hot glued the other two on at different angles.  This worked best to actually hang the wreath as I glued them on so I could see exactly how they would be situated. 

I am so tickled with how they turned out!!!   I think I might make another set for inside to decorate the door shelf :) 

I used a tutorial I found online for the pinwheels... Love them!!  :) 

The USA stars were cut using my Cricut. Stars were from the Stamping Solutions cart and the letters were from Alphalicious. 

So there we have it...All sparkled up for JULY! 

Now I'm off to do some more decorating and cooking!

FINALLY!

Gosh, it's been forever and ever since I've had a chance to play in my craft room!  I probably picked the worst time ever to start a Blog and try to to stay consistent with it.. LOL
These last few weeks have been busy times, getting through Mothers Day and all the Proms at the shop.    Then, the last couple of weekends have been dedicated to District and State track meets for my boy! 

Soooooo I finally got some time to play this weekend and  I've been working on some projects for Graduation!  I've actually got a couple started and not quite finished... But I was able to finish THIS!.  Can you believe it.... I've had my Cricut for 3 years and this is my first... yes I did say FIRST EVER scrapbook page!   I can definitely see some more of these in my future!  :)

We're having Chase's graduation party next weekend so I thought this would be fun to set on the table.  I love the way it turned out and I'm so proud of it because I didn't copy it!!  I made it up all by myself!  LOL
I used several different carts.. Let me know if you need the deets and I'll be happy to share.  

As I said, I have a few more projects that I'll be sharing when they're finished... and I have a few more projects that I'm making for the actual Grad Nite party.... so I should have LOTS to share over the next couple of weeks :)

Lets make a Mini Album!

Hello !

Well, today Spring finally visited for a few hours… it was so cold this morning, but the sky was clear and blue…. And that makes me SO HAPPY!    It was nice and warm this afternoon, that is if you were standing directly in the sunshine!  Move out of the direct sun and it was brrrrrrrr.  But it was so nice to see the sun, if only for a day….  Now it’s back to rain for a few more days.  :(  I know, I know… it keeps Oregon Green.

Today I want to share a Mini Album that I’ve started.  I’ll share the pages as I complete them, but you’ll have to bear with me...  Prom season has arrived and I will have to work the next few Saturdays, so this could take some time :)  (Then Mothers Day… then Graduation and Grad Night….. “Deep Breaths”)

 So here we go.....I’ve cut out all my “Pages”, which are envelopes from the “Sentimentals” cart.  Love , love, love this cart! Sooo many cute cuts on here!

I then made a plain a rectangle shape to fit on the inside as extra “pages”.    I cut these out of chipboard (My chipboard came from “Bug Junkie”)

I cut 6 envelope pages and 5 inserts… All my envelopes were cut with heavy, patterned card stock so I didn’t feel there was any need for chipboard in these.   I’ve cut patterned paper or CS to fit all the chipboard insert pieces, too,  but I haven’t glued anything down just yet.  I learned from experience to wait until I'm all finished with the whole page before I add glue!  :)  So let’s get decorating!! 

This is my cover…..

I cut the frame from chipboard and another piece from this pretty, sparkly paper…I THINK this frame was cut from Cindy Loo, but I’ll have to check that. 

I’m not sure what else I want to do with the cover yet, so I’m just going to leave it alone for a while. 

Here are the first inside pages.  

I cut the paisley shape from Cindy Loo out of chipboard, then another layer of CS.  I used my hot glue gun to adhere it down just along the bottom edge so it will hold this little file folder. Finished it off with little flower Bling..  :)

I added another frame from Cindy Loo to the next page… A little bit of tulle, a button and a little yellow paper flower finishes it off nicely, eh?   Simple, but cute!

This little file folder is from Tags Bags Boxes & More... isn't it  so cute?!  A brad and a piece of ribbon hold it closed.

That’s as far as I got for now…. One page at a time.....  Next up:

Oh..  and here’s the cake from last night’s class……ummmmm can we pretend that the purple stars on top are blue.. and while we’re at it can we pretend that they are little round dots and not stars.. that way they can be blue bubbles… Cuz that’s the look I was going for .

 

It’s OK… but of course I can see a LOT of room for improvement!  Definitely not ready for Cake Boss!
